That sounds good on principle, but none of us are aware of the ramifications of Kevin's Automation Rules app which does probably hook into core parts of the software, perhaps in unsafe or non-recommended manners. Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should be done, and Automation Rules allows anything to essentially trigger and action in the community. I'm not aware of the specific problems of the Automation Rules, but I'm sure Kevin can reach out to discuss areas of improvement to meet IPS guidelines. I don't ever see that happening. A lot of MP developers barely get enough visibility as is in the Marketplace. Shifting things to a non-Invision site will drop the traffic off tremendously.

I mean, if you're going to build rules, you're going to build a lot of them. I *was* using rules for a trophy system but I was concerned about the performance imipact, but I keep the app updated.
-
Yeah they hate your app. Too bad, because it's too good of an app. The power and functionality is just too good.

Thanks It's interesting that you bring that up. I believe that's actually how Trophies & Medals by Fosters works, which is in a background process that runs every 15 minutes. It's also why I don't like his app at all. If you're only rewarding users once a week, then you lose on the immediate gratification. You're rewarding the user when he's long past the point of activity. It's the same as giving a doggy treat to your dog ... a week later.

Never mind, I'm starting to remember why I skipped rewards for activity. It's a very computationally expensive counter since it evaluates it on EVERY content update.
-
Never mind. I'm a dumb dumb. The content count is set during conditions.

Hey Kev, I'm revisiting this app to build out a trophy system, and I have some general questions: 1. Rule Set - I have a collection of rules, but they all run independently of each other to reward trophy icons. I just want to make sure it won't be a problem if I group them together as a rule set. 2. Event for user content count? I checked all of the events and didn't see anything. I'd like to give an award when user content count = X.

No I haven't. I'm hoping Kevin will build in the black transparent background like on IPS Profiles or other headers

Well, it kind of is? The collab owner is promoting his specific collab. So when his guests arrive, they're entering directly through his collab as the point-of-entry and his collab home is a portal to the rest of his collab. It's a mini portal that deserves a mini registration button . I mean be able to invite non-site guests, such as an invitation to be able to send out to one person. For example, you want to invite your real-life friend to join your collab.

3. Add black background to collab name like on IPS profiles. Otherwise, it's very hard to see collab name on light-colored backgrounds.

Hi, Group Owner who is bringing over his 1700 member group wanted me to ask about two items, which I thought were reasonable suggestions: 1. Add "Join" button to cover photo. He's trying to attract non-community members, and there's no "register" or "sign in" button within the collab to get them logged in. 2. Add email invitations to non-community members in Manage Members. Same as above, he has no way of reaching out to invite them directly to his new group.

Change club types to Public, Open, Closed, etc. to mimic language

You might as well copy IP.Clubs. Here are some features: 1. Maps 2. Paid Clubs

"Join Collab" button on banner if user is not a member - encourages signup to the group
